William P. Harper and second wifeAminda. C. Childers
Here are possible grandparents, parents and siblings of M. C., using the naming patterns.
Thomas Harper (Leroy's grandfather or father??)
Mary Elizabeth (Deida's mom's name was Elizabeth)
Talitha C. (Leroy's grandmother or mother?)
(I know some pages have Tabitha/Talitha, but her in-laws knew her as Talitha, relatives
who were around her knew her as Talitha and her death certificate lists her as Talitha)
Margaret Jane (Deida's grandmother?)
Matilida (Deida's oldest sister is name Lucinda, so Leroy's grandmother?)
The reason I questioned Leroy's middle initial as to whether it's an M or W is that there are no Michael's named in our line, but there are a lot of Williams and Walter's. Thomas W. (Hood) Harper's middle name is Walter and his second son is Thomas Walter, Jr (named after his Dad), while Thomas' first son is William Leroy (Thomas' Dad or William's grandfather?)
If you print out a Carroll County Militia Districts report, it lists the number and the name, which you will see on Census indexes and Tax indexes. Villa Rica is 642 and Temple is 649, two places where Mack lived. On the 1850 Carroll County census, the following Harpers living close to M. C. are (I'm going by the "Dwelling houses numbered in the order of visitation" column" M.C. visitation number was 995)
#1039-Joseph Harper age 25, male b. GA
#1040-Sexton Harper age 22, male b. GA
#1088-Sexton Harper age 48, male b. SC
#1116-Saphronia Harper age 22, Female b. GA
#1348-J.D. Harper age 40, male b. GA.
The first part of the census has the following:
#127-Terrel Harper age 37, male b. SC
Joseph Harper age 50, male b. SC-this Joseph Harper was married to Charity-He died at Villa Rica in 1880. He married Charity in 1824 according to the the Family Tree posted by a Patterson.
I'm still tracking these to see if they show up together in the future. In 1850, Jasper Harper was listed on the Marshall County, Alabama Census. In 1880, he had moved to Jackson County, Alabama.
